Sea buckthorn 'Gnom' (dwarf male)
Hippophae rhamnoides
Dwarf, with few or no thorns, the sea buckthorn ‘Gnom’ (Hippophae rhamnoides) is a pollinator that allows you to optimize your space, in addition to ensuring compatibility with the female ‘Chuyskaya‘.
The male produces the pollen. The female bears the fruit. For optimal yields, the male pollen, dispersed by the wind, fertilizes at least 6 females, depending on the planting pattern which must respect a maximum spacing of 30 meters between the male and the most distant female, and possibly the direction of the prevailing winds.
Its vigorous suckering requires some control. The sea buckthorn ‘Gnom’ tolerates pollution and salt spray. Nitrogen fixer.
