Weeping mulberry
Morus alba pendula
3 m       2,5 m      Hardiness zone 5

The weeping mulberry(Morus alba pendula) has a classically elegant, drooping habit that not only adds architectural character, but is also particularly practical for picking.
Younger children emerge with mauve up to their ears.
Initially white, the fruit turns pink, then red, and finally black when ripe.
For those who want to be faster than the birds, try them before they’re fully ripe, already pleasantly sweet, without a hint of acidity, and with a less juicy texture reminiscent of “jujubes”.

Yellow foliage in autumn.
