Landscape Horticulturist

Job description
Do you want to participate in edible and sustainable development projects in an atmosphere of pleasure in harmony with a dynamic team and for customers who share the same ecological values? At Paysage gourmand, we create new flowerbeds as beautiful as they are tasty, with turnkey production, for a very interested clientele who appreciates the quality of our work.

Tasks
- At the customer: trimming, decompacting, amendment, planting, laying of mulch and stepping stones.
- Participation in repotting and landscape maintenance work at the nursery,
in the cultivation field and the demonstration gardens.
Criteria
- Team spirit, autonomy, positivism, punctuality, efficiency and concern for quality.
- Good physical condition and adaptation to various climatic conditions.
- Nearby residence or ability to self drive directly to clients
- Training or experience in horticulture, otherwise high motivation and learning ability.
- Ability to fulfill the role of assistant team leader.
- Asset: ability to drive a truck with trailer.
Period of employment: Mid-April to mid-November. Full time seasonal position.
Hourly : 35 to 45 hours over five days, depending on the projects or possibility of part-time. Usually from Monday to Friday, exceptionally from Tuesday to Saturday approximately 5 weeks in the year. From 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., sometimes extended when the project is far away.
Hourly rate: $18 to $21.

Nursery maintenance manager
Description
Are you looking for an exceptional pesticide-free environment while contributing to a better world? Certified organic, the nursery is located in Rawdon on a picturesque permaculture site with its cultivation field, greenhouse, demonstration gardens, ponds and flowery paths. More than 450 varieties of edible perennials are grown there, including many unsuspected plants that are not found elsewhere and which delight our customers.
The people chosen will have the essential task of ensuring the maintenance of the premises, mainly with weeding, mowing and optimizing flowering, which aims to feed and shelter a diversified fauna necessary for our pesticide-free production method. This contributes to agritourism activities that delight visitors.
Period of employment:April to November. Permanent seasonal position.
Tasks
- priorities: ensure the maintenance as well as the aesthetics of the field, paths and demonstrative gardens, weed, spread mulch, plant, sow green manures and grassy paths.
- occasional: repotting, watering, fertilizing naturally, mowing paths, pruning, scouting, rototilling, etc.
Criteria
- Sense of observation and priorities, attention to detail and the beauty of places and plants.
- Relevant experience with priority tasks. For one of the two positions, a limited experience can be compensated by the desire to learn.
- Team spirit, positivism and punctuality.
- Very good physical condition and adaptation to climatic conditions.
- Ability to communicate and listen.
- Place of residence nearby.
Start of employment:As soon as possible.
Hourly :From 24 to 40 hours on weekdays over 3, 4 or 5 days. Holiday week possible during the summer.
Salary : 17 $ to 22 $.
