Autumn olive 'Amber'
Elaeagnus umbellata
The autumn olive ‘Amber’ (Elaeagnus umbellata) is a fruit shrub appreciated for its golden yellow, edible fruits with a slightly sweet taste, sometimes improving after the first frosts. They can be eaten fresh, used to make jams, jellies, juices, or dried to extend their conservation. It is from September that you can harvest its small berries. It is advisable to leave them on the tree until they have reached full maturity or after the first frosts to soften their flavor.
