The plum tree ‘Damas blue’ (Prunus domestica) is a legendary European variety believed to have been brought back from the Near East during the Crusades.

Resembling ‘Mont Royal’ in several ways, its dark blue plums with yellow, juicy flesh feature a distinct nipple. While the ‘Damas blue’ is self-fertile, it produces higher yields when cross-pollinated with ‘Mont Royal’ or other plum trees.
