Raspberry dwarf
Rubus idaeus

Suitable for growing in pots, the raspberry dwarf  (Rubus idaeus) sometimes struggles in heavy soils. Of average size, it does not compete with the sweetest or most aromatic.

Mid-season variety without thorns. Light suckering. No need for a stake. Raspberry plants are practical in hedges, where it is easier to appreciate their expansive suckers, which can be managed with lawnmowers or with various hand tools allowing you to recover the tender shoots that you can eat like asparagus, raw or cooked, or in sweet herbal tea, before the invasion.

Choose its final location carefully, because while it is welcome to settle in any type of soil that drains well, comfortable in slightly acidic soil, it quickly becomes persistent and a little colon. Even if the raspberry dwarf fortunately survives, the harvest will be juicier if it does not suffer from drought.

Enjoy picking raspberries ripened to perfection, from varieties selected for their flavor, sweeter than in stores, and cut the prices, which are increasingly high due to the labor-intensive picking time. Production begins in the 2nd year, and can decline due to diseases after 7 or 8 years of good harvests. Self-fertile.
