Scottish lovage 'Summer Delight'
Ligusticum scoticum
Also called sea parsley, Scottish lovage ‘Summer Delight’ (Ligusticum scoticum), this herbaceous plant with a taste of celery combined with that of parsley, is perhaps less well-known than its intensely flavoured officinal cousin. However, its flavour has nothing to envy of modern celery varieties. The sweetness of its leaves and stems can easily be found everywhere on our plates as a green vegetable. The flower is aromatic but sweet enough to be sprinkled on a fancy dish.
Useful plant and authorised in riparian strips.
