Western sand cherry
Prunus besseyi
The western sand cherry (Prunus besseyi), a very small shrubby cherry tree with dazzling, fragrant and divine flowers. Sweet, the cherries are not very tasty, not very acidic, but juicy and refreshing. They are not unpleasant, but they can be enhanced by enhancing the flavors in cooking.
Requires good soil that drains well and retains erosion from dry slopes. Cross-pollination requires planting at least two plants.
