Apricot 'Scout'
Prunus armeniaca
The apricot tree ‘Scout’ (Prunus armeniaca) produces golden, firm fruit. The orange flesh is delicious in jams and transformed into exotic desserts.
Partially self-fertile, it typically yields its first harvest in the second year, with abundant crops by the third or fourth year, as long as its spectacular early bloom, one of the earliest among fruit trees, is not damaged by a late spring frost.
‘Scout’ is noted for being one of the most resistant varieties to late frosts. Its foliage turns yellow in the fall.
