Flowering raspberry
Rubus odoratus
The long pinkish bloom of the flowering raspberry (Rubus odoratus) still lasts while pink berries join in towards the end of summer. Ripening slowly, the picking gives a few berries, every day, extending from July to September, until a frost takes away all this beauty and goodness, leaving all the same yellow foliage. It all depends on the climate: the further south you are, the longer the season, the greater the yields will be in the end. Similar to a raspberry in a flattened dome, with a precise and surprising taste of raspberry yogurt. It will be your passing candy for several months, never available in sufficient quantity to make jams.
The leaf of the flowering raspberry is larger than the maple leaf and gives off a resinous odor, like the stems – not thorny! – when it is controlled in its expansion.
