Grape vine 'Trollhaugen'
Vitis sp.
The grape vine ‘Trollhaugen’ (Vitis sp.) offers the hardiest of the seedless blue grapes, excellent to eat fresh as a table grape, it is the most fruitful with larger berries than ‘Somerset‘ in pretty compact cylindrical clusters, less sickly than the classic ‘Montreal Blues’. It is similar to the ‘Concord’, sweeter in a thinner skin and without the seeds!
Vigorous vine with long vines. Often drastic, the pruning of the grape vine ‘Trollhaugen’ allows to pick edible leaves. Tenderized and salted in brine, they will make local vine leaf rolls, traditionally stuffed with seasoned rice. Hardy hybrid cultivar, crossed with our native shore vine. Self-fertile.
