The ‘Stella’ sweet cherry(Prunus avium) is one of the few sweet cherry cultivars recommended outside Montreal, the suburbs and southern Quebec.

On the palate, it’s a sure bet, with a sweet taste that appeals universally. But although the ‘Stella’ sweet cherry has proved its worth as far afield as the Gaspé Peninsula, it’s risky to plant it beyond these areas, unless you can offer it a micro-climate sheltered from desiccating winds.
